Title- Organic semiconductor technology: fabrication of electronic devices in university classrooms.
Abstract- In this paper, we describe the activity developed since 2005 at the Universitat Politecnica de Catalunya were students fabricate their own electronic devices based on organic semiconductors. The relative simplicity and low-cost of the systems used to fabricate this kind of devices, together with the harmless character of the processes and materials that are involved, make this experience appropriate for University classrooms. This activity is especially intended for students in their last period of formation or coursing a master degree. It has been designed as a guided laboratory work that also requires some initiative and previous self-documentation by the students. Therefore, this experience is well adapted in a natural manner to the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS) established in the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) framework.
Index Terms- Electronics engineering education, Thin film devices, Organic compounds, Semiconductor device manufacture.
