Title- Technological resources for distance learning in Spain: A comparison and implementation.
Abstract- The implementation of the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) has produced a revolution in the traditional way of the university education is done. In the new paradigm, the evaluation of the work carried out by the student in a continuous way conduct us to the use of technological resources for supervising the activities carried out in particular, off the classroom. Such resources are known as e-learning platforms (distance learning). All Spanish universities have implemented (or are started to implement) this kind of e-learning systems, so in this work a detailed revision of the characteristics of the different platforms in the Spanish university area is shown.

Title- Learning object reutilization applied to the study of Electronic circuits.
Abstract- Education requires a great amount of effort. Authoring high quality learning content is but one of many tasks involved with this continuous process. Learning objects are a new approach to help teachers to reuse and find different contents. Open standards have made possible to achieve this accomplishment. Through digital repositories we can explore collections of resources about a topic of interest without filtering large lists of search results. Later some of them shall be combined in any manner one chooses. DIEEC wants to share here the research to adapt our current Electronics Engineering courses following this methodology.

Title- LooKIng4LO. Information System for automatic extraction of Learning Objects, a study case.
Abstract- Reducing the production costs associated with digital materials in the e-Learning area is a imperative need. One of the followed strategies is to build didactical materials as modular and reusable components, called digital Learning Objects (LO). Their most important advantage is their ability for integrating easily with other more complex LO to build didactical units or complete courses. In this work we present our experience using the LookIng4LO tool, for the automatic extraction of LO and show a general description of the tool. A part of the experience was done for a course in Industrial Communications Networks, a subject in the third course of the Industrial Technical Engineering career, in UNED (Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia).

Title- M2Learn: Open Framework for Developing Applications for Mobile and Ubiquitous Learning
Abstract- This paper describes an open framework aimed to facilitate the development of mobile and ubiquitous learning applications. The main features that this framework implements are: (a) transparent management of several location-based technologies, including GPS, and cell towers; (b) easy identification of objects through RFID; (c) support for motion sensors (e.g. G-Sensor); (d) interoperability with existing services in a Moodle e-learning platforms; (e) support for widely accepted e-learning standards, including LOM for learning objects, and IMS-QTI for assessment. This framework provides an easy API that simplifies the development. This paper also discusses several projects implemented over the M2Learn framework.

Title- Fingerprint Verification System in Tests in Moodle.
Abstract- This research describes the method of combining traditional authentication (password and username) with biometric technology, specifically fingerprint authentication. This authentication model is applied in distance education where courses are developed in learning management systems. It introduces the features of distance education as well as the biometric sensor operation. It describes the changes that are necessary to introduce in the learning management system in order to use the fingerprint as a data in the process of authentication. Finally, we performed tests of assessment the new authentication system in lab sessions at the college.
