IEEE-RITA (Revista Iberoamericana de Tecnologías del Aprendizaje) (Latin-American Learning Technologies Journal) is a publication of the IEEE Education Society (IEEE EdSoc). It is focused in the Iberoamerican community (Latin America and Spain and Portugal), not just on its geographical area but also on the worldwide Spanish-Portuguese speaking community.
IEEE-RITA has been approved by the Administrative Committee of the IEEE Education Society in the meeting of 19 June 2006, like a pilot project of new ways of information and knowledge transmission. It was approved as an official publication of the IEEE Education Society in the meeting of 20 October 2009, being pending of the final approval of the IEEE Publication Committee.
IEEE-RITA is published quarterly (February, May, August and November) in a basis of 1 volume by year, 4 numbers by volume. During its initial phase of launching the frequency was semestral: two numbers by volume, in May and November. Starting 2009, initial foreseen quaterly frequency was established.
Each number includes about 5 papers (10 at most)
IEEE-RITA is a publication launched by the Spanish Chapter of the Education Society of IEEE (CESEI). Initially it was supported by the Spanish Ministry of Education and Science through complementary action TSI2005-24068-E. Afterwards, it was supported by the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation through complementary action TSI2007-30679-E. Since December 2009 it is being supported by the complementary action TIN2009-07333-E/TSI.
